SIDE 1 MERIDIANS .bl _________ MERIDIANS are channels or paths which are situated all over the body, they have certin special points, where it is possible to reach certin kind of energi = TCHI- which means life energi. That energi is not homogeneous- but it's an mix between two different kind of forces or energis, which are equal in strenght but are opposite in polarity, the Chinese therm for this two forces are JIN/JANG. The MERIDIAN can with help of an analogi be compered with an river which is inside the human body, on certin points it's possible to recach this "invisble" river with acupunctur needels. I would like to make one more analogi around the meridian systems. Let us compare MERIDIANS with a water pipe system in an large building where the water is the JIN/JANG energi eqvivalent. If some pipes in the water system are blockated then the hole, or a part of water system will be in unbalance, in the same manner will the MERIDIAN system be affected if the body become sick. BALANCE = HEALTH and UNBALANCE = UNHEALTH. JING meridian have longitude situated streams or flows- which are setted (framed) like a river vally. The sing of JING can be interpred as a frame which is necssaray to complete something, for exampel you must use an frame when you complete a picture. A MAIN MERIDIAN can be compered with a tree trunk, in which the sap and other life important materials can be transported. Beside the main meridian there is also so called secondary branch- off's- to compered with the branches on a tree . These secondary branch off's is called LO MO. LO is an energi path which can be adapted to JING . LO can carry out obeyings, helpings and servings. JING = MAIN MERIDIAN. In which paths moves the QI -energi- breathing? Lungs are dominating the QI, and are take care of the breathing. The lungs have too a great influence on all of the bodys function and tissues. The lungs have the function to clean air, and they have too, a special function to drain energis this is often of great signi- ficance when treating asthma. The remaning organs i.e. Heart- Lungs- Stomage- Liver and upper Trip. W. have the purpose to send the energi down ward, and the remaning organ have the purpose to send the energi up wards. The lungs energi is directed down ward and is received by the kidneies (assimilated by) and then used. If the kidneies recived the energi from the lungs then it will be an nice, smooth breathing and an excellent circulation of QI. Because the Lungs have a draning and dispersive function it can receive the QI and distribute it's flow down wards to provide for the needs of the body in it's functionally activits (breathing out the consumed and muddy air). "JING MO" = distribution, movement of life i.e. the Main flow. "LO MO" = distribution of life i.e. Smal channels. "JING LO MO" = distribution of the movements of life which come in contact with all flows in the body. !! SIDE 2 LIVER- GAN- ZANG .bl ________________ The liver is an ZANG- organ (compact organ) with JIN character. GAN is hiding the essentuella energi = JING and i's filled with wholness called MAN. GAN use the essens from the food and air to keep it's JING and to function as a "treasure chamber". BODY TISSUES: TENDINO MUSCULARY .bl _______________________________ GAN can control the muscules i.e. the dynamic force aspect of the tonus. This force have as main object to work with musceles function and with food which provide GAN with energi. When a GAN-energi is in balance, then the whole human being can move without restriction and without pain. GAN- NAILS .bl __________ The blomming aspect of GAN can be observed on the nails. When the energi level is correct then the nails is hard but's still possible to bend them, in other words they are not brittel. Still further the nails have pink colour and right luster, when the GAN aspect is blomming. GAN- EYES- TEARS .bl ________________ GAN have it's openings in the eyes and it's MAIN MERIDIAN have to do with the inner most of the eyes. One function which GAN have among many other is to provide the retina with blood, GAN is also controling the flood of tears. GAN TEMPERAMENT-CHOLERIC .bl ________________________ The cholieric temperament can be observed as angerness when the GAN function is too high. VEGETATIVE SOUL(MIND)FORCE-HUN .bl ______________________________ HUN stands for the intellegent life part of the human being. HUN act as an intermediary force when the human mind work with pictures and abstract modells, which are important for humans fantasies and dreams. HUN make it's possible for human beings to make modells in the mind of how it's body moves, in other words the HUN concept make human mind self conscious, and make it possible for humans to carry out there lifes. GAN- BRAIN .bl __________ GAN must work correct if the brain and the mind shall behave in a propper way. Most likely have GAN a detoxic function which influence the brain, and futher more GANS MAIN MERIDIAN is passing right through the inner part of the brain. !! SIDE 3 GAN-ZANG CONNECTED WITH DAN-FU .bl ______________________________ The connector is LO. In GAN there is possible to distinguish one GAN activity and one DAN activity, which both have an opposit function to each other. This will implicate that when one of this two part is overactiv, it vill automticly implicate that the other part will be underactiv. GAN- BLOOD- ENERGI .bl __________________ The GAN meridian contents more blood then energi(it's an reservoir for the blood). GAN's deep aspect in the body = Blood. GAN's intermedium level is the muscels. GAN's surface level is the eyes. GAN is like a huge laboratorium in the human body from which manny processes are controlled, for exampel the immunologi defence system. GAN: Point of the compass: East External pathological factor: Wind Element: Tree Taste: Sour Season: Spring Time: 1*03 WHEN THE LIVER ENERGI IS TOO STRONG .bl ___________________________________ When an human have this condition, it's normal that overreaction and anger are comeing in play, the Livers YANG is in surplus. It's annyhow an natural motion (as when the sap is rising in a tree trunk), but the increasing amount of YANG will be developed to anger. YANG is then taken a to big place in the Liver and therefor YIN have been wekened in the Liver. Because of that, the blood will be wekened and the energi be risied (become stronger). In the Chinese way of thinking, it means that anger implicate a surplus of energi. Too much energi (force) make man violenteive together with the force called libido. Blind consciouness in man make him commit actions without hesitating. WHEN THE LIVER ENERGI IS TOO WEK .bl ________________________________ When the Liver is wekened, man become sade and anxious. The metal- element have given it's "colour" to Tree. JING SHEN is affected and make the man feel sadness together with an feeling that is hard to breath (melancholy feelings). Other symtoms which can come in play is - pain in thorax-flanks (notic the course of the meridian). - obstructions of farynx and throat ( in West this condition is called Globus Hystericus), it will be hard to consume foods and drinks. - lose of appetite and lose of thirst. - unregular menses. - it easy for the patient to become angry. !! SIDE 4 When the Liver energi too wek then the vitality will be wekened in man too, the vitality which is contolled by JING SHEN. Sadness and wekness in the man will be observed as obstruction in the energi flow, the Liver have as mission to let the energi to move (flow) freely. Often it is so that the problems are shows up in the main meridian's flow, and as a secodary affect the bodys left and rigth faces will be affected too. Because when man is sad, man have no desire for food and drinking and will because of that not renewing his vitality, as I have stated above, this state will be futher more complicated becuse food and drink will have hard to pass throw the throth. When it's problem with the menses, then the Liver is so wekened that it have not power to circulate blood properly, the blood circulation is blocked and their is no harmoni in it's circulation. All of this exponations are collected in the Chinese ideograms, there an exponation must have three aspects: Hevean, Earth and Man. Exampel: When the Livers YANG is too strong and it's YIN it's too wek, the Livers energi will rise up ward and become liberated in a excessivly way. Symptom: - headache. - dizzyness. - read face. - read "sklera". - hypertension. - jaundice. This symptoms indicate lack of irregation and a state of inflammation. The reason is as I have said before that is the Liver's energi is in surplus and therefor it's no blance between YIN and YANG. This results in a wekening of hole the body's circulation, becauce the circulations are controlled by the Liver. A surplus of FIRE givs inflammtions marks, which will grove along the meridian and cause dryness and wekness in this areas. !! SIDE 5 THE LIVER ACTIVITY .bl __________________ The Liver activity fluctuate acordning to a twenty-four-hours rhythm and the occupation of the person. During the night the blood will flow back ward to the Liver, because the body during that time will not need so much blood. The Liver shall treat blood as an "treasure", but if the Liver is not succesfull in that respect, the man will be haunted by bad dreams, even muscels can be moved unconscious during the sleep. The treatment in such case is: Tonification of the Liver (right side) so it can keep the blood. This treatment is given throght Hepar 8, which is a HO-(HE)-point it's element is WATER. When the blood (YIN) in the Liver is wek then the symptom is - wek sight. - disorder of the darkness sight. - muscelcramps, because of bad "irrigation" of the muscels. - moition sickness. - drained bloodflow during the menses. - amemorrhoe. All of this symptoms have one comman cause, that there are regions of the body which get too littel blood. The Liver is very closed conneced with eyes sight, and can even affect the deepes parth of the eyes. Lack of irregation will cause a bad sight. The reason for muscel cramps have same grund cause, and it's at first hand the joint regions which can be affected (lack of "grease"). When the blood is wekend and it can not be collected by the Liver, it will be enriched by other regions of the body, and cause folowing symptoms - vomiting blood. - nose bleeding. - blood in the urine (hematurin). - uterus bleeding. - blood spiting. - metrorraghi. !! SIDE 6 HOW TO EXPLAIN SHEN ? .bl _____________________ The heart is the collecter of SHEN. SHEN is emanated from the heart and thorow out the rest of hole body. If the heart become attaced by some peversed energi, and the heart become woneded by that attack, then SHEN will be dissipated and the person which have been attaced will die. It's therefor it's said that heart is the place in the body where the LIFE is roted. SHEN is the essens of man which make him living and make him selfconscious. The connection between SHEN and the heart is not of an anatomic or toplogical kind. It's an much more subtil relation, which is hid inside each cells. THE PARTS PLAYED BY SHEN, HUN, PO, YI AND ZHI .bl _____________________________________________ SHEN have the ability to influence the HEART, and making each individual unik. When SHEN acting in a correct way, it will fullfill an individulls life in amost subtil and effectiv way. HUN which is related to the Liver, give man the gift of fantasies and take care of mans intelletual activites, and reflect life under supervison of SHEN. PO is related to the Lungs and to everything which controls man's insticts. "Pictures" which we are carring inside us permitt us second thougs and instictive reflexes (born). If PO acts in a proper way, it will make man complete, with possibillites to have creative ideas, and to have inner and outer dialogs. YI stands for the idees which are suggested to the individual, YI is also importent for an individuals power of decision. It represent some kind of a reference fram for the rest of a human soul/mind-power- concept. It's possible to compare YI's inner dialog expression in man as kind of reconance. ZHI which is the last link in this chain, is close associated with the kidneies. It's stands for thougs, which beginns to materialize in human mind. ZHI have a permanence which stands for a certin kind of force, which intensified ZHI and permitt it to be active. ZHI make make it possible for man to practice a Life fullfilled with finesse and creativity. HOW TO EXPLAIN ESSENTIELLA ENERGI .bl _________________________________ It's possible to interpret essentiella as energin = life energi = substance. The essentiella energi which is received (obtained) from air, food and drinks transforms with help of the stomack- spleen complex. It's accumlates in the torax-region and will then reach in contact Lungs and Heart. The flow of Life energi starts in the lungs, and spreeds out to the all meridians. !!
